The May Tennis Clinic

Updated: Apr 26

May means tennis time! Not too cold and not to hot! Perfect weather for tennis.

The May Tennis Clinic will take place at Saint John's High School, the most beautiful facility in Central Massachusetts. The possible clinic times are Tuesday 5-6 PM, Saturday 2:30-3:30 PM, and Sunday 2:30-3:30 PM. The Weekend Class may be divided into two classes (2:30-3:30 and 3:30-4:30) if necessary to keep the players in groups of similar age and level. I will be the instructor for all classes.

The session starts Tuesday, May 3rd and ends Sunday May 29th. If the weather is too cold or rainy, I will text you 24 hours in advance and let you know whether the clinic is rescheduled or moved indoors to The Shrewsbury Club. If I do not text you 24 hours in advance, assume the clinic is outdoors at the scheduled time. Because I rent the courts, and expect at least two kids to be there, I cannot offer refunds for missed classes.

Each class is $40 and I highly recommend twice a week for optimal improvement. Parents pay full session cost on the first day of the session in cash put in an envelope with the player's name on it.

The schedule is listed below. Please look at the schedule and let me know all the day(s) you are available and the number of day(s) you want to attend per week by Friday April 29th at Midnight. I will then organize players in the appropriate groups and let you know the exact days and times you will be playing by Sunday May 1st.. Group will be between 2-8 players and we use 2 courts so there will be 2-4 players per court.

I will begin each clinic with a dynamic warm up that will improve your child's footwork, racket skills, mobility, and fitness. Next, I will cover the specific technique on a shot. The shots that will be covered for this session will include flat forehands and backhands, top spin forehands and backhands, slice forehands and backhands, low/medium/high volleys, power volleys, drop volleys, overheads, and flat, slice, and kick serves. Then, we will master the technique of each shot through fun drills and games.

The two intentions for this clinic are to have fun as much fun as possible and to improve as much as possible. I hope to see you there!
