If the ball is close to the line, play on. Set the tone. When you play close line calls, your opponent will feel your generosity and reciprocally play close line calls. Hoping for the ball to be out is operating from a fear-based mindset. Regardless of what my opponent chose to do, I remember that my most fun matches were when I was giving calls. I was so in the “zone” that I literally wanted my opponent to make his shots in so that I could continue in my “flow state.” Win or lose, when I had this mentality, I always played better tennis.
